If an employee is on Long Term Disability (LTD) status in May and does not make a bonus election, what happens if that employee is reinstated to the original position?
Employees on LTD are generally not eligible for the bonus. However, if the agency has held the employees position because of the nature of the disability and the expectation that the employee may be able to return to work, the agency could ask DHRM for an exception to normal procedure. This exception would permit the employee to complete an election form after returning to work, if the return occurs before June 30, 2003. 10.
