If am a Mechanical Engineering student in a catalog year 2005-2006 or prior, may I substitute MECH&AE 107/107L for MECH&AE 169A?

For any Mechanical Engineering student in a catalog year 2005-06 and prior where MECH&AE 169A is required, and who has not yet taken MECH&AE 169A, the Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering department prefers, and strongly recommends, that these students take MECH&AE107/107L instead of MECH&AE169A. Students who choose this substitution must file a petition at 6426BH to have MECH&AE107/107L substitute for MECH&AE169A. The petition will be approved. Students who take BOTH MECH&AE 107/107L and MECH&AE 169A may apply credit for MECH&AE 169A as a free technical elective or MECH&AE technical elective. Please file a petition at 6426 BH to apply MECH&AE169A as free technical elective credit/or technical elective credit.
