If a woman experiences irregular periods, can she still conceive?
I had very irregular cycles, and without charting or trying too hard (we went off birth control and had regular sex, but didn’t chart my basal temperature or anything) it took us about a year and a half to get pregnant. We actually were just on the verge of trying harder, and actually bought a basal thermometer to start charting when I got a BFP. Someone else asked if you have PCOS. It’s worth looking into–I have no PCOS symptoms except for an irregular period (I’m skinny, with no extra facial hair or extreme acne) and I was shocked to find that I do have a very mild case of PCOS that is causing my irregular periods and making me ovulate less frequently than other women. It’s worth looking into, and it’s helpful to know if it’s the cause. Also, according to my doctor, women with perfectly regular cycles who ovulate like clockwork and have sex at exactly the right time for conception still only have a 20% chance of conception–so just because you haven’t concieved yet, don’t feel like
