If a time-of-day rate is offered, will my thermal storage system still operate and will PPL control the time of day my system will operate?
Yes, your thermal storage system will still operate. But to benefit from the proposed rate, you would want to install a timer to control your electric thermal storage and domestic hot water system. PPL intends to provide a timer at no cost, if our plan before the Public Utility Commission is approved, but you would be responsible for the installation of the timer. You would be able to set the timer to ensure your system doesn’t operate during peak periods.
