If a Russian fashion model got American citizenship, would it significantly help her career prospects?
American citizenship won’t have any bearing on her getting work or not.There are hundreds of Eastern European models working in the US who don’t have citizenship – their agencies just sponsor their work visas. In addition, she would need to be married for at least 3 years before she would be a citizen anyway, and by then her career would probably be over. if she’s already a successful model in China, she should stay there. At 21 it’s doubtful any US agency will want to sign her as most agencies do not sign models over age 21 or 22. She would probably have a better chance going to Milan or Paris than the US if she’s not already an internationally known name like Coco Rocha or Lily Cole by age 21.
