If a pregnant woman receives the nasal-spray H1N1 vaccine by mistake, what steps should be taken?
No intervention needs to be taken. A pregnant woman should be reassured that her fetus will likely not be adversely affected and she can continue her pregnancy. She does not need to be revaccinated with inactivated vaccine. Physicians should report an instance of accidental administration of LAIV to pregnant women to the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System.
