Answer Councils may not provide services to anyone in a care home who gets NHS continuing healthcare. Where an individual is in receipt of NHS continuing healthcare but is living in their own home the NHS is still responsible for meeting all nursing and personal care needs including associated equipment and social support. However there may be other needs that the council can help with (for example carer support, support with parenting, independent living equipment and adaptations, advice and information etc.
