If a package of care, using carers or family members, is already in place, prior to the award of NHS continuing healthcare, can the PCT pay those carers/family members to provide the care?

Answer It is up to individual PCTs to decide how they deliver a package of NHS continuing healthcare. Payments for care workers employed by an independent agency can be made but PCTs cannot currently use direct payments.
