If a mom goes from breastfeeding to fully formula feeding after she is 6 months postpartum will there be a no-benefit food package code for her?
Response: If mom is no longer breastfeeding and is six months or more postpartum, she is no longer considered categorically eligible to receive WIC benefits for herself. Therefore, she would need to be terminated in the TWIN system. Any benefits issued on or after six months postpartum must be void. If she is still breastfeeding she will continue to be enrolled as breastfeeding, but will not receive a food package for herself. Her food package code will automatically transition to code 000 (an empty food package used to count participation) at six months.
