If a licensed loan originator completes an approved continuing education residential lending course(s) during 2008, will the originator receive credit for the completed course(s)?
Yes, a maximum of 8 hours of completed residential lending continuing education courses may be applied to meet a loan originator’s 2009 continuing education requirements. Beginning in 2010, courses must be taken within the 12-month calendar period for which the continuing education courses are taken. Note, for those non-grandfathered loan originators who were required to take a 24-hour residential mortgage lending course prior to obtaining licensure, this course will not count toward the 8-hour continuing education requirement for any year. Q: Will non-grandfathered loan originators who successfully complete the 24-hour pre-licensure residential mortgage lending course be required to complete additional continuing education requirements in the same calendar year in which their license was obtained? A: No. The continuing education requirements would be effective beginning the calendar year following the year in which the pre-licensure education requirements are completed.Fees Related
