If a leader can lead by example, can he be called a leader?
MY SHORT ANSWER: Yes, but it’s not right and I don’t like it. MY REAL ANSWER: I think many people – maybe the majority, choose their leaders according to what the prospective leaders say, and not what they do. In the United States there is no shortage of political leaders whose records are clear. People know what experienced politicians have done, but during each campaign cycle they come around with the same old sales pitch, which describes almost nothing like what the leader voted for or supported in the last round of service, and still the liars and hypocrites win re-election a great deal of the time. Many people fool themselves much of the time. They like people who lie to them, as long as the lies are attractive and would be nice if they were true. Surely not everyone is like this, but many are all to willingly lied to and abused by leaders.
