If a GST instalment payer goes into bankruptcy, liquidation or receivership before the end of the financial year, when is the Annual GST return due?

The Annual GST return (PDF, 110KB) is due the 21st day of the month after the end of the instalment period. The instalment period ceased the day before the bankruptcy, liquidation or receivership. The Annual GST return (PDF, 110KB) must be lodged on or before the 21st day of the month following the date of bankruptcy, liquidation or receivership. For example, if a GST instalment payer goes into bankruptcy, liquidation or receivership on 10 June 2002, the Annual GST return (PDF, 110KB) is due on 21 July 2002. The liquidator or receiver has fourteen (14) days to notify the Commissioner of this fact. The Annual GST return (PDF, 110KB) will be sent out to the liquidator or receiver allowing sufficient time for it to be completed and sent in.
