The group is not required to specify their rendering providers to register the group’s NPI. The group must register its own NPI and each rendering provider working under the group must separately register their own NPI. The rendering provider may authorize a representative to register their individual NPI on their behalf but they must ensure the correct NPI is registered to the appropriate Medi-Cal provider number.
