If a family is MIChild eligible, what is the beginning date?
If a family completes the DHS-1171 and is not eligible for Healthy Kids, the application is referred to MIChild. MIChild eligibility begins on the first of the month following acceptance into the MIChild program. MIChild eligibility is not retroactive and will not cover the time since the family submitted the DHS-1171.
