The MSISDN is converted to Subscriber ID. WAP Push supports both MSISDN or Subscriber ID addressing. Subscriber ID is a unique identifier assigned to each provisioned subscriber within the Mobile Access Gateway. A content developer can be provided the Subscriber ID by the carrier or through the request headers when the subscriber visits their site. If the user is not provisioned and is not visiting the provider’s site, a push can be sent by using the subscriber’s phone number. In this case, the subscriber must provide the phone number or the content provider must obtain it in some other way.
