If a classified employee’s hours are reduced, do they have the ability to exercise bumping rights?

0

Classified employees whose hours have been reduced by one or more hour per day (and who started the first day of their work year) may choose to exercise their bumping rights. In this case the least-senior person in that classification with the appropriate number of hours will be bumped, to avoid reducing the employee’s hours. This may result in the employee taking a different position/location within that classification. If there are no positions within the classification for the employee to bump into to reinstate hours, the employee may choose voluntary layoff. In this case, the employee would be placed on a layoff list and would be considered for future vacancies within their classification.
