It depends on why the child did not receive DTaP. Not all of the contraindications and precautions for DTaP are the same for Tdap. Please review the ACIP’s recommendations for this situation, http://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/PDF/rr/rr5503.pdf [474KB – 50 pages] (pages 23-24).
