No – inconvenient though it may be, being stuck together by superglue doesn’t cause pregnancy. However, unlike humans, dogs don’t engage in intercourse unless the bit.ch IS on heat. Sometimes even SHE won’t realise that she is on-heat, but the odour tells the keen male all he needs to know. So if penetration has occurred you can be sure that she WAS on heat. And so fertilisation CAN occur. Whether it WILL occur is not something predictable (except as per Sod’s Law, which teaches us that the opposite of our wishes is what WILL occur…), and so you need to take her to the vet for the course of 3 injections spaced so many days apart, to ensure that any fertilised ova cannot embed their placentas into the lining of the uterus.
