Id like to see more graphics, such as fancy buttons. Why are all menus boring text?
Too many graphic buttons slow down a Web site. As many of our visitors are using slow modem connections, we make our pages as small as possible. Therefore, we only use graphics were we have to – for pictures, and minor enhancements to the design. Another important issue is accessibility for all users. People who need screen enlargers to read the text have difficulties seeing graphic buttons. All text on the main UVic.ca site can be resized as needed. The site is designed to follow W3C web standards. It will display in most browsers, including text-only browsers.
