Id like a laptop in addition to a desktop, what are my options?

If an individual requires a second computer for research/computation, dual platform access or portability (e.g. laptop in addition to a desktop computer) funding of the computer purchase and replacement will be the responsibility of the individual and/or their department. The computers will be subject to replacement when they age out of a supported operating system and hardware spec. I also need a docking station, speakers, and a few other things. Users may want to request some level of customization to their computer. These requests have usually been ‘quality of life’ issues that the cascade is not funded to support for all users and therefore are options that we ask the individual or their department to fund. Some recent examples: docking stations, DVD burners, external speakers and external zip drives.
