Openings on the City’s various boards and commissions are filled each year. The application process begins in September with an announcement in The Sachse News and on this website that applications are being accepted. You must fill out an application and return it to the City Secretary. A reception is held in October to allow City Council members an opportunity to meet all applicants. Interviews are conducted in October and appointments are made in November. New members begin serving on their board/commission at the December meetings. Boards and commissions include the Planning & Zoning Commission; the Board of Adjustments; the Parks and Recreation Commission; the Library Board; the Animal Shelter Advisory Board; Economic Development Corporation Board of Directors and the Tax Increment Financing (TIF) Board.
