I have just completed this conversion on my 62 Mk2. It was a very smooth job since I had all the parts to do it in hand. Some of the points to remember; • The rear transmission mount is different, but the threaded bolt holes are there for the manual one, so be sure you have the correct mount assembly for the MOD. • The starter is completely different. You must have the MOD version. • The pedal box is the same on both manual and auto. The wide break pedal on the auto comes off and smaller pedals go on to the individual arms. There is a cover plate over the place where the clutch master cylinder mounts. • You will need the clutch master and slave and the tubing to connect them. • The hole in the tunnel is easy to cut with a Sawzall reciprocating saw. Drill 3/4″ holes at the four corners with a uni-bit and then cut between them. You will probably have to cut some more out of the hole as you lift the transmission into position and can see the exact location of the linkage. • Of course the
