I would like to start an educational thread on rec.gambling to answer the question, “Whats the `optimal wager in a given favorable situation?”
To start off, in this article I supply a bibliography of Kelly criterion related literature. I highly recommend Michael Dalton’s “Blackjack: A Professional Reference” as a means of doing just this sort of literature search, though it has a lot of room for improvement. It also supplies a basic blackjack dictionary; unfortunately, in this case the definition of Kelly criterion is too simplistic for our needs. I don’t have very many of the references below, unfortunately. But maybe *you* have some of them and can post a summary of the optimal wagering information… Following each reference, I have listed the source of the reference in brackets.
