I wish to start a PowerPoint Presentation selling business. Is it profitable?
Uh, well, I make a living creating PowerPoint presentations, so yes, it’s a real thing and it can be profitable. I do most of my work in the “brick and mortar” world. That’s where the pay is real. Online gigs pay much less because you are competing with other vendors throughout the world. Depending on where you live this might not be a problem. I live in the US. My real world rate is $50 / hr. People in the Philippines are charging as little as $1.50 / hr to create PowerPoint (probably up to $7 / hr if they are actually any good), so it’s tough competition. Fortunately, my skills have proven to be much higher than the vendors I’ve competed against, but I’ve only managed to pull in $25-30 / hr on online gigs. I work through oDesk.
