I went DEP in army and they gave me a dog tag but said i dont need it after basic. Why is that, is this dog tag worthless in the end besides memories and proof im military?
You better check with your CO. Jay was a Maine and was never allowed to remove his Doggies if he was in uniform. And they’re definitly not worthless. This is going to be morbid, but if you go into to combat those are for identification for the medics and your toe tags if you die. And if they have to leave your body they leave one of them on you and take a dental immpression with the other so they can identify your body later.
