I was told that our existing backup and recovery solution has granular recovery functionality, so why do I need CYA SmartRecovery?
Some more traditional backup and recovery solutions allow administrators to recover granular content, but they don’t recover the critical, associated metadata that provide the context for the content. CYA SmartRecovery restores granular content and all its associated metadata, such as audit trails, workflows, lifecycle states, and digital signatures directly back into the repository in their original states. These metadata must be protected to ensure that the authenticity of the information being recovered isn’t compromised. A user or administrator cannot manually recreate metadata, and therefore if it is unrecoverable, the information is considered corrupted. This puts companies at risk for significant legal fees and fines should the information be requested for audits, e-discovery or other compliance-related purposes.
