I was late paying one month, and was charged a 2% late payment fee. Why?
As with most service providers, there is a late payment penalty applied those who do not pay their accounts on time. Late payments and bad debts increase finance and administration costs, which increases everyone’s Cable rates. Most customers pay their accounts on time every month. By charging a nominal 2% late payment fee for those who pay their accounts late, the costs incurred by late payments are charged directly to those who pay late, as opposed to increasing everyone’s Cable rates.
