I was expecting to take Spanish 111 and 112 to fulfil my language requirement but they are not offered. What do I do?
The Spanish 111/112 stream of intermediate Spanish is being phased out for the moment and will not be offered in the 2008/2009 session. Its final status for the future has not been fully decided. Please be reassured that this does not represent a problem for students wanting to take intermediate Spanish to fulfil the language requirement for the Faculty of Arts. It needs to be understood that Span 111/112 and Span 201/202 were not substantially different courses, they just gave us the option of grouping students in a slightly different configuration (according to achieved proficiency or grades) rather than grouping all intermediates together. The same textbook was used, and the material and the expectations were essentially the same. Students with Grade 11 Spanish should consider the suggestions stated in #3 above.
