I want to use QuickConnect instead of the VPN to authenticate when Im off campus and I need an on-campus IP address for the library or some similar application. Why doesn that work?

I want to use QuickConnect instead of the VPN to authenticate when Im off campus and I need an on-campus IP address for the library or some similar application. Why doesn that work?

UIUCnet QuickConnect doesn’t change the IP address you’re given. The VPN server does. That’s why, when you’re trying to connect to the library or the UIUC subscription to the Oxford English Dictionary from off campus, you’ll need to use the VPN server to receive a UIUC IP address.
