There are two scenarios you may want to use; the solution depends on which option you want to do: 1. If you want to keep all of you logbook data on your Palm device, without HotSyncing it to another application on your desktop computer, then when you install the software choose the “Custom” option and select ONLY the software for the Palm device. Do NOT select the HotSync Conduit software. Without the conduit installed, the HotSync action will simply be a database backup, and all of your logbook data will remain on your device. This option will also work with Macintosh computers. 2. If you want to HotSync your log entries to some other application than DSSLog for Windows (such as a spreadsheet), install both the Palm software AND the conduit using the standard install. Before you HotSync your device, you must tell the conduit where to put the import files created by the conduit.
