A. To retrieve your UMnet e-mail using a program such as Outlook, Outlook Express, Netscape or Eudora you need to specify the incoming and outgoing (SMTP) mail servers. If you are using the campus network, use umnet.umaryland.edu for both the incoming and outgoing (SMTP) mail servers. If you are using another Internet Service Provider for your Internet access (i.e. AOL, Erols, etc), you may still use umnet.umaryland.edu for your incoming mail server but you will need to use the outgoing (SMTP) server information provided by your ISP.
