EndNote references can be inserted into text boxes but the coding tends to conflict with Word coding and can alter the order of your bibliography at the end. The best way to deal with this is to type any references you need in text boxes in manually then insert the reference from EndNote underneath the text box, click Edit and Manage citations (in Word), then click the boxes to exclude author and year which will hide the inserted reference – it will then appear properly in your bibliography. An alternative to this is to convert your text boxes to frames by right clicking the text box and choosing Convert to frame – see this FAQ from Thomson.
