I want to operate the JOVE receiver indoors – what kind of power supply can I use so I don have to keep buying expensive batteries?
A well-regulated 120 volts AC to 12 volts DC power supply such as the 12VDC Regulated 500mA supply from Jameco is recommended (part number 162996). It sells for under $10. This power supply includes the proper power connector that plugs right into the RJ Receiver (no danger of hooking it up backwards). The price may vary depending if it is ordered by phone or over the Web. Many power modules that plug directly into the wall (known affectionately as “wall warts”) are poorly regulated and can cause severe hum problems when used with the JOVE receiver.
