Guys, I don’t think he means that he wants to tattoo anyone. I’m pretty sure he means that he wants to open a shop, be the owner, and hire artists to work for him. The answer to your question is no, you do not. But you will have to get all sorts of permits to operate, and make sure the artists you hire are licensed and skilled. You also need to be aware of all your state laws regarding tattooing and make sure you follow them to the T. You should also be aware that it’s going to take a ton of money to open a tattoo shop; the overhead for these businesses is astronomical. Tatt shops use a lot of electricity and require very expensive equipment.
