When applying color to the surface only, the concrete is poured in its natural gray color. Once the cement is down, colored powder is sprinkled evenly and thoroughly across the top. We then work the color into the wet cement with the use of a bullfloat. The result is a beautiful color that penetrates 1/8″ to 1/4″ into the concrete surface. Another option is to have the color penetrate the full depth of the concrete project. In order to achieve this, we will pick up the color and deliver it to the concrete company days or weeks before the project is slated to begin. On the day of the pour, the concrete company applies the color directly to the cement mixture in the truck. When the truck arrives at the job site, the colored concrete is then dispensed into the project area. The main difference between these options is cost and personal preference. Color that permeates the entire pad is more expensive, but is preferred by many customers. Surface color tends to cost less and is just as beau
