Thank you for the kind thought, but the carer is paid by Doncaster council to provide your care, therefore should not be accepting gifts from those she cares for. It is against our policy for your carer to take gifts, money or vouchers from you. If she does accept a gift, then she must declare the value of the gift to her manager and any acceptance of money or expensive gifts could lead to disciplinary action. To avoid embarrassment and problems for the member of staff, it would be best if you did not buy anything, but convey a simple thank you or “happy birthday”.
