I want to dye my hair dark brown. What brand/shade or colour name hair dye has no red tones in it?
That depends on what your natural color is. If you hair is darker (not blond or red) just make sure you use 10 volume developer it makes the color deposit only. If you hair is naturally red it might be hard to fight. Go to a Sally’s and look for a color that list the base color as green (no it won’t turn your hair green) avoid red, gold, yellow, orange base colors. And remember when going brunette select a shade 2 shades lighter than you actually want. When you add color it adds depth and darkness to your existing color so the shade that looks just right on the sample will be much darker on you. Remember 2 ounces of color to 2 ounces of developer. If you go higher than 10 volume you risk it bringing out red in you natural hair color.
