I want to by stock in News Corp. Should I buy NWS or NWS-A?
NWS and NWS.A are both News Corp. stocks. NWS is common stock (ordinary shares), while NWS.A is non-voting stock (stock that provides the shareholder little or no vote on corporate matters such as election of the board of directors or mergers.) Right now NWS (common stock) is trading at 21.86, while NWS.A is trading at 20.95 – a 90ยข difference – so I’d recommend buying NWS.A if you don’t mind giving up your rights to vote on mergers or election to the company’s Board of Directors. If you’d like to be able to vote on these issues and don’t mind the increased stock price, I’d recommend NWS. Sources: http://finance.google.
