i wanted to become a midwife myself & looked into wot u need to do, firstly u need to do an access course to be have the qualification to move onto midwifery, this is a years part time course which you could fit around your little one but then you have to attend a full time course to study midwifery, this can’t be done at home

Because midwifery is such a hands-on type of profession and building up clinical skills, you would always need to attend at least a few days a week. You could not purely study from home. Midwife courses are very over-subscribed. I asked a student midwife and she said there were 800 applications for 30 places.
