I want to be a fashion advertiser when i grow up. Is RISD a good college choice for that?
I’ve heard good things about RISD though I passed it up in favor of SCAD for a variety of reasons. By fashion advertiser do you mean someone (like a graphic designer) who specializes in fashion advertising? Or do you mean more of an actual advertising-specific degree, as in one who coordinates the advertising for an account (in this case fashion). Advertising is a very broad field. You’ll probably need to extensively research this (google!) to figure out how you want to approach it. Contact a variety of schools to look at their programs. RISD has a great graphic design dept. never heard them being known for advertising – think I heard that they have a good fashion dept. Chances are you’d be going into an Advertising dept NOT the Fashion dept. Some schools (like SCAD) offer Graphic Design and Advertising as separate degree programs.
