I ve heard the RN program is going to be offered on the Newton Campus. When will it start?
Up until Fall 2011, the DMACC Newton campus only offered the Practical Nursing (PN) program and admitted a class each fall. The PN program is the first year of the two year Associate Degree Nurse (ADN) program. For previous classes the only option for Newton PN graduates to complete the ADN program was to request to transfer to another campus. Seats were not guaranteed and transfers were granted only if space was available. The class admitted to the Newton Practical Nursing program in the Fall of 2011 will be the first group to have an opportunity to take the second year of the ADN (RN level) program on the Newton campus. Beginning fall 2012, DMACC Nursing will launch an ADN pilot program in Newton. The second year (RN level) of the program will be offered on the Newton campus only to students who started in Newton in the fall of 2011, graduated from the PN program in May 2012 and met the requirements to progress to the ADN level.
