I used “create texture” or “create animate” on an object and in 3.2 it just shows up white. Whats going on?
In order to properly apply a texture to a polygon, the 3D engine needs information in the form of a “UV coordinate” for each vertex of the polygon. Unfortunately, many older, flat-shaded objects in AlphaWorld were created by the original artists with no UV coordinates for the vertices. When a texture is applied to the polygon in this case, the results are undefined. Unfortunately, it appears that DirectX 6.1 (used in AW 3.1) and DirectX 7 (used by AW 3.2) react differently to this undefined case. DirectX 6 would usually paint the object in a crazy random shifting pattern of colors. DirectX 7 simply does nothing. There are a few things you can do in this case. If you were just trying to change the color of the object, use the color command instead of texture or animate. If you were trying to take advantage of the random texture effect in 3.1 for your object, and the object is one of your own (i.e. you have made the object yourself or have access to the object path) you can either manual
