DVD-RW is used for reading DVD’s such as the ones that you find that play movies. DVD’s also tend to hold more space. DVD-RW can read but it can’t write files onto a disc unless you have a DVD-RW disc writer.

dvd-rw is a dvd(movie) disc that is rewriteable. You can use it, erase it and use again, or you can add to it. unlike the discs(R) that you can only burn once and they can’t be erased and used again. a rewriteable disc(rw) means read and write. You can read them and you can also write to them over again.
