I use an invalid (spam-blocked) address to post to scjm, but I still want to receive acknowledgements/rejection messages. Can that be done?
Yes, you can have an alias defined in the robomoderator which will cause it to send any mail which it would have sent to your “fake” address to the “real” address at which you read mail. For this to work, you need to use a consistent fake address in the Reply-To: header of your posts if you use one, or the From: header otherwise. To register an alias, send a message to al…@scjm.jewish-usenet.org containing the fake address which you use in Reply-To:/From: and the working address to which you want messages sent. For now, we are handling those requests manually, so there’s no required format. To change or remove a previously established alias, e-mail the same address. In case you’re worried, the real address you register for the alias will never be revealed in the newsgroup; it will be used only by the robomoderator and the human moderators for sending official, newsgroup-related mail.
