No one who has any sense leaves XP for a first one ever version of VISTA. I think you should remove your vista and upload the latest XP once again, i have many friends who have done the same and says that VISTA is very stupid and they have many problems with software and programs, inc my brother.. XP derives from Windows based operating systems, but VISTA so far is just a one off MS has created and sold.

You will have to go to each of the software’s sites and look for Vista patches or upgrades. Using the compatibility function I find is a waste of time. Half the time it never works properly. You have two choices really, struggle on with Vista or back all your data off, rip off Vista and reinstall XP as a clean install.

You can download a free program called Microsoft Virtual PC. Then, if your computer can handle it, you can run an XP inside your vista. It can be configured to work with ur vista desktop seamlessly (drag and drop between windows, internet.. etc..) for more details on how to do this: http://lifehacker.com/software/windows/g…

You can set up for dual boot so the computer will ask if you want XP or Vista when it boots. What software are you having trouble with. There could be updates at the relative website.

try running the software in windows xp mode. windows vista will allow you to run your programs inside of a “Shell” that will let you program think it is still in windows xp.. If that doesn’t work then you could Always go to java.sun.
