I understand Verity loudspeakers feature a unique, rear-firing woofer bass system, but does this design cause phase and delay errors?
The advantage our bass system provides, of which the rear-firing woofer is just one component, is so positive that its overall contribution to the system’s performance far outweighs any effects that may be created by minor woofer phase or delay errors. In every case, and with ANY loudspeaker, there is no substituion for proper room placement to achieve accurate bass reproduction. The low crossover frequency we implement in our designs minimize any ill effect to an insignificant level. Please refer to our PDF document about “Low Frequency Reproduction” for further information; the paper demonstrates how a properly designed rear-oriented woofer configuration can reduce distortion, increase dynamic range and overall coherence, and increase the bass output level and extension for a given size of loudspeaker and room.
