I understand there are no nude beaches in Thailand. How can that be, in a country thats supposedly so open about sex?
In public, Thais are extremely modest and discreet. It’s considered improper to kiss in public, or even to hold hands romantically. (You may spot two young Thai men walking down the street arm-in-arm. They’re just friends. Really!) If you go to a gym, people will keep a towel around them in the locker room as they change clothes. Nudity on a public beach would be unthinkable.
