I understand the CASL is a battery of tests, not subtests. What is the difference?
Each of the 15 CASL tests is a highly reliable, stand-alone test. The clinician is free to give one test or several tests and can report the score(s) with confidence. In tests other than the CASL, a single subtest score is generally not reported because it is not reliable enough to stand alone. The subtest must be given in conjunction with other subtests to form a composite score. CASL gives the clinician the flexibility to administer only the necessary tests.
