I understand that there are various careers guidance qualifications eg QCG, NVQ in Guidance. Do I need to complete one of these or any other type of qualifications to become a Personal Adviser?
It is not essential that you complete this type of qualification to become a Personal Adviser. In the past, a number of person specifications for Personal Adviser vacancies have stated that we require applicants to have the intellectual ability to successfully undertake an academic course to NVQ 4 and second year degree standard. When we do require a specific qualification, this is clearly stated on both the advert and person specification.
