I understand that the University legally has to produce a Travel Plan but aren’t all the proposed car parking changes just another way to make money out of hard-working staff?
The focus of the Travel Plan is to encourage and enable staff to use sustainable, low environmental impact methods of travelling to work. Some of the money gained through car park charging is highly likely to be used to contribute to this. Over time, the investment of this revenue should result in staff being able to make sustainable transport choices more easily.
